Leadership Development Opportunities

Are you a UVA student interested in developing your leadership skills and abilities? Here are some great opportunities for individuals to dive deeper.

ACC Leadership Symposium

The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Leadership Symposium is a three-day event focused on growing the bond between the 15 schools in the ACC by strengthening the education of their student leaders. Every year, the ACC universities send delegates to this conference to address societal issues by creating innovative solutions, think of their roles as leaders and change makers, and network across universities. Over the course of the symposium, students learn about inclusion, community, and leadership through interactive and dynamic sessions, keynotes, workshops, and hands-on group activities. Student groups work together to create a final project to be presented in front of the entire symposium on the closing day.

  • Student Engagement sponsors several UVA students to attend the ACC Leadership Symposium every year. The application opens in the fall and all UVA undergraduate students are encouraged to apply.

Blueprint Leadership Program

Blueprint Leadership is an emerging leaders program geared towards first and second-year students and transfer students at UVA. This is a seven-week program during the spring semester that is designed for students with leadership potential and an interest in developing their personal organizational skills in an intentional, educational, and reflective team environment.

Women’s Leadership Development Program

WLDP is a women's leadership program designed for undergraduate women at UVA. The program engages participants in a wide range of programming addressing personal and professional development, networking and communication skills, self-confidence, and leadership style. Each year WLDP offers fun group activities, engaging speakers, and valuable presentations by women leaders. The program is held during the spring semester and includes an opening reception, three primary sessions, a closing dinner, and small group meetings.

Visit the WLDP website to learn more.
